Airport transportation from Gig Harbor and the South Sound

Gig Harbor Limo provides private, pre-booked airport transportation between the South Sound and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the Seattle cruise piers at Bell Street Pier 66 and Smith Cove Pier 91. Pickup is door to door in Gig Harbor, Fox Island, Purdy, Key Peninsula, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo, Belfair, University Place, Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Federal Way, Olympia and Seattle. Vehicles range from a two-passenger sedan to a 30-passenger bus, and every booking is a single private vehicle rather than a shared shuttle with other travellers on board.

From Gig Harbor the Sea-Tac run is roughly 26 miles and 40 to 55 minutes across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, starting from $125 one way in a premium sedan. Kitsap pickups in Bremerton, Silverdale and Poulsbo run 70 to 105 minutes; Pierce County pickups in Tacoma, Puyallup and Federal Way run 20 to 50 minutes. Arrivals include real-time flight tracking and 30 minutes of complimentary wait time. Dispatch operates 24 hours a day for early departures and late landings. Reserve online or call 253-333-0265.

Airports, piers and terminals

Where we drop off and pick up

Sea-Tac is the bulk of the work, but the same vehicles run to the cruise piers, the regional airports and the ferry and rail terminals that South Sound travellers actually use. Distances below are measured from central Gig Harbor.

Also served on request: the Point Defiance and Southworth ferry terminals, Bremerton and Kingston ferries, King Street Station in Seattle, the Tacoma Dome Amtrak stop, and private and charter terminals at Tacoma Narrows Airport and Bremerton National. Drive times are typical rather than guaranteed.

Sea-Tac, all terminals

Departures on the upper drive, arrivals at the third-floor parking garage islands or the passenger pickup zone, and meet and greet at baggage claim if you would rather be found than go looking.

Seattle cruise piers

Pier 66 downtown and Pier 91 at Smith Cove, timed to your assigned boarding window rather than a fixed slot. The Port of Tacoma is cargo only, so every regional sailing leaves from Seattle.

Boeing Field

King County International for regional carriers, charter flights and private aviation. About 32 miles from the harbour, quoted with the traffic window in mind rather than off a flat mileage figure.

Ferries, rail and base access

Point Defiance, Southworth, Bremerton and Kingston ferry terminals, King Street Station, the Tacoma Dome Amtrak stop and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, including early report times.

Cities served

Find your city, drive time and pickup hour

Every city below gets door-to-door pickup at a home, hotel, office or venue. The pickup column is what we would recommend for a 9am domestic departure, working back from a two-hour curb arrival with a buffer for the Narrows Bridge and the I-5 corridor. Add an hour for an international departure, and 30 minutes for a Monday or Friday morning.

Mileage is measured from each city centre and will vary by exact address. Drive times are typical for the time of day rather than guaranteed, and pickup recommendations already carry a buffer. Starting fares cover one or two passengers in a premium sedan; SUVs, Sprinter vans and stretch vehicles are priced in your quote. Peak dates and 4am departures may carry a surcharge, which is shown before you confirm.

Gig Harbor Peninsula

40–80 min

Our home ground. Pickups from the waterfront, Canterwood, Rosedale, Artondale, Wollochet and the island and peninsula communities north and west of the Narrows Bridge. Short enough that a 5:45am pickup covers a 9am flight comfortably.

Kitsap County

60–105 min

The long lane. Kitsap pickups route south through Gorst and over the Narrows rather than onto a ferry, which is slower on the map but far more predictable than betting a flight on a sailing schedule.

Pierce County and the I-5 corridor

20–75 min

The quickest runs we do, though also the ones most exposed to a bad morning on I-5 through Fife and Federal Way. Pickup times build that in rather than assuming a clear road.

Sedan, SUV and Sprinter van used for South Sound airport transfers

Seven in ten of our bookings are airport or cruise runs

The overnight dispatch desk, the flight tracking and the luggage-first vehicle sizing all exist because of that. It is the lane the business is built around.

On the day

What a transfer actually looks like

Departures and arrivals run on different logic. A departure is a countdown you control; an arrival is a moving target we track. Both are handled the same way every time, whether the pickup is in Federal Way or Poulsbo.

Flying out

  1. Confirmation and chauffeur detailsYou get the vehicle, the chauffeur name and a direct mobile number by text and email, so nobody is calling a switchboard at 5am.
  2. On the way notificationThe chauffeur texts when leaving for you. Vehicles stage locally, so a Kitsap pickup does not start with a car sitting in Gig Harbor.
  3. Door to door, bags loadedCurbside at your door with luggage assistance. The chauffeur waits 15 minutes at no charge on non-airport pickups.
  4. Route chosen on live trafficThe Narrows Bridge, the I-5 crawl through Fife and the 405 alternative are compared before you leave, not decided at the on-ramp.
  5. Departures curb, upper driveDropped at your airline door with bags unloaded. Three hours out for international, or on a heavy travel weekend.

Flying home

  1. Your flight is trackedDispatch watches the inbound from the moment it leaves the origin gate. Two hours early or three hours late, the pickup moves with it.
  2. Chauffeur is dispatchedThe vehicle leaves the cell lot on wheels-down, not on your scheduled time, so it reaches the curb as you reach the exit.
  3. Text with the exact spotYou get the door number and island so there is no wandering the arrivals deck. Meet and greet at baggage claim is a $50 add-on if you prefer.
  4. Free wait timeAirport arrivals include 30 minutes of complimentary wait from the time you land. A slow carousel does not become a line on the invoice.
  5. Door delivery, bags inBack across the bridge to your door with bags carried to the step. No parking garage, no shuttle bus, no hunting for the car.

Is this a shuttle

Not in the shared-van sense. A traditional airport shuttle picks up several unrelated parties, runs a fixed loop and adds an hour of other people's stops to your trip. Every booking here is a private vehicle assigned to your party alone, leaving when you say and going straight to the terminal.

People still search for a Gig Harbor airport shuttle, and this is the service that answers that need: pre-booked, door to door, fixed price quoted before you confirm. If you want a genuinely shared ride at the lowest possible cost, a scheduled regional shuttle or the Tacoma Dome park-and-ride into Link light rail will be cheaper, and slower.

Vehicle selection

Size the car by the bags, not the seats

The most common airport booking error is a family of four choosing a sedan because there are four seats. Four seats and four checked bags do not fit in the same vehicle. The table below is what we would put you in for an airport run, based on people and luggage together.

Recommended vehicle for airport and cruise transfers by passenger count and checked luggage. Transfers are quoted point to point rather than by the hour.
VehiclePassengersChecked bagsHourly rateTypical airport booking
Premium Sedan22$100Solo traveller or a couple with carry-ons and one case each
Luxury Sedan33$125Executive travel, client pickups, an arrival that needs to look right
Luxury SUV66$150Family of four with checked bags, ski gear, golf clubs or a car seat
Sprinter Van1010$175Cruise parties, multi-generation family trips, team travel
Lincoln or Chrysler Stretch105$175–200A group that wants the arrival to be part of the trip
Cadillac Stretch165$225Large groups travelling light, or a two-vehicle luggage split
Party Bus20–302$300–350Group departures where luggage follows in a second vehicle

Stretch limousines and party buses carry people well and luggage poorly, so for a full cruise party we normally pair one with a Sprinter or SUV for the bags. Tell us the bag count when you book and we will size it properly. See the full fleet and hourly rates.

Honest comparison

Private transfer, rideshare, park-and-fly or transit

There are four realistic ways to get from the South Sound to Sea-Tac for a morning flight. A private transfer is not the cheapest of them and we are not going to pretend otherwise. It is the one that removes the most variables.

Comparison of ground transportation options between Gig Harbor and Sea-Tac Airport for a single morning departure. Costs are typical rather than quoted.
OptionTypical one-way costAvailability at 4amLuggage helpMain risk
Private transfer$125 and up, quotedYes, pre-bookedYes, both endsHighest upfront cost of the four
Rideshare$70–150, surge dependentThin west of the NarrowsDriver dependentNo car available, or a fare that doubles in a storm
Drive and park$25–45 per day parkingYesYourselfTen days of parking, plus a garage shuttle at both ends
Park-and-ride plus light railUnder $10Limited early serviceYourselfTwo to three hours door to gate with bags

On a ten-day trip, airport parking plus fuel and both garage shuttles often lands close to a round-trip private transfer, which is why cruise and long-haul travellers tend to move over. For a two-day trip, parking usually still wins on cost. Our guide to what a Gig Harbor to Sea-Tac limo costs runs the numbers properly.

Cruise transfers

Pier 66 and Pier 91, timed to your boarding window

Cruise transfer drop-off at the Seattle piers from Gig Harbor

Alaska sailings leave Seattle, not Tacoma. The Port of Tacoma handles cargo only, so every regional cruise departs from Bell Street Pier 66 downtown or Smith Cove Pier 91 at Magnolia, roughly 50 to 52 miles and 60 to 90 minutes from Gig Harbor depending on the hour and the bridge.

Cruise lines assign a boarding window rather than a single departure time, and the pier is chaotic at the peak of it. Pickup is scheduled backwards from your assigned window with the Saturday morning northbound traffic factored in, which on a summer sailing day is the difference between a calm drop-off and 40 minutes in a queue on Alaskan Way.

Return pickups are scheduled against the ship's actual arrival rather than the printed one, and a Sprinter van is the usual choice for a cruise party because a week of luggage does not fit in a stretch limousine.

  • Luggage assistance at the pier
  • Groups up to 30 across vehicles
  • Return timed to actual docking
  • Pre-cruise hotel stops on route
Who books these

Four kinds of airport trip we run most weeks

The 4am departure

A 6am flight out of Sea-Tac means a 4am pickup in Kitsap. Dispatch is staffed overnight and vehicles stage locally, so the earliest slot on the board is not a problem to fill.

Family and multi-bag trips

Car seats fitted before pickup, an SUV or Sprinter sized to the bag count, and a chauffeur who loads the boot so nobody is wrestling a stroller on the departures curb.

Corporate and roadshow

Recurring executive transfers, client collection at arrivals, and multi-stop days across Tacoma and Seattle on a single account with consolidated billing. See corporate service.

Groups and crews

Wedding guests inbound for a weekend, sports teams, medical and flight crews, and cruise parties of up to 30 split across vehicles that arrive together rather than trickling in.

Our flight landed almost an hour early and the driver was already waiting at the curb when we came out. No phone calls, no waiting around with the kids. Booked them again for the return leg the same week.

We have used Gig Harbor Limo multiple times for corporate travel and nights out in the South Sound and Seattle. Professional drivers every single time, always on time, and the vehicles are immaculate.

Airport transfer questions

Which cities do you pick up from for airport transfers

Sixteen, door to door: Gig Harbor, Fox Island, Purdy, Key Peninsula, Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale, Poulsbo, Belfair, University Place, Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, Federal Way, Olympia and Seattle. Drive times to Sea-Tac range from about 20 minutes from Federal Way to about 105 minutes from Poulsbo. If your address is outside that list, send us the pickup and drop-off and we will confirm.

How early should I be picked up for my flight

Work back from a two-hour curb arrival for domestic and three hours for international, then add your drive time and a buffer. From Gig Harbor that is a 5:45am pickup for a 9am domestic departure; from Bremerton, 5:15am; from Tacoma or Federal Way, closer to 6:10am. The city table above lists a recommended pickup time for every area we serve, and dispatch will adjust it for holiday weekends, early-morning bridge work or a known event day.

How much does a ride to Sea-Tac Airport cost

Airport transfers are quoted point to point rather than by the hour, so a 45-minute run is not billed against a two-hour minimum. One way in a premium sedan starts at $95 from Federal Way, $110 from Tacoma, $125 from Gig Harbor, $155 from Port Orchard and $215 from Poulsbo. SUVs, Sprinter vans and stretch vehicles cost more and are priced by group size and luggage. Your quote shows the full fare, including fuel, tolls and the bridge, before you confirm.

What happens if my flight is delayed or lands early

Your inbound flight is tracked from the moment it pushes back from the origin gate, and the pickup moves with it automatically. If you land 45 minutes early the chauffeur is already dispatched from the cell lot; if you sit on the tarmac for two hours, nobody is waiting on the meter. Airport arrivals also include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time from touchdown, so a slow bag carousel does not add to the fare.

Where does the chauffeur meet me at Sea-Tac

The default is curbside on the arrivals level, and you get a text with the exact door number and island once you land, so there is no wandering the deck looking for a black SUV. If you would rather be met inside, meet and greet at baggage claim with a name board is a $50 add-on. For departures, drop-off is on the upper drive at your airline door.

Is this a shared shuttle or a private vehicle

Private. The vehicle is assigned to your party alone, leaves when you say and drives straight to the terminal with no other pickups. A shared airport shuttle is cheaper and adds an hour of other people's stops. If cost is the priority over time, a scheduled regional shuttle or the Tacoma Dome park-and-ride into Link light rail will beat us on price.

Do you handle cruise transfers to the Seattle piers

Yes. We run to and from Bell Street Pier 66 and Smith Cove Pier 91, roughly 50 to 52 miles and 60 to 90 minutes from Gig Harbor, starting from $185 in a premium sedan. Pickups are timed to your assigned boarding window rather than a fixed slot, luggage assistance is included at both ends, and return pickups are scheduled against the ship's actual docking time. The Port of Tacoma is a cargo port with no passenger terminal, so all regional sailings depart from Seattle.

Do you serve Boeing Field or Joint Base Lewis-McChord

Yes. Boeing Field, King County International, is about 32 miles and 45 to 65 minutes, from $145. Joint Base Lewis-McChord is about 36 miles and 45 to 65 minutes, from $150, including early report times. We also cover the Point Defiance, Southworth, Bremerton and Kingston ferry terminals, King Street Station and the Tacoma Dome Amtrak stop.

Can you take a group of ten or more with luggage

Yes, up to 30 passengers across vehicles. A Sprinter van seats 10 with room for 10 checked bags and is the usual choice for a cruise party or a large family trip. Stretch limousines and party buses carry people well but only two to five cases, so for a full group we normally pair one with an SUV or Sprinter for the luggage. Tell us the headcount and the bag count and we will size it properly. See the full fleet.

Do you run pickups at 3am and 4am

Yes. Dispatch is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and early departures are routine rather than an exception. A 6am flight out of Sea-Tac means a 4am pickup in Kitsap and a 4:45am pickup in Gig Harbor. Book the night before at the latest so the vehicle can stage locally, and expect the confirmation text with your chauffeur's direct number before you go to bed.

Can you fit child car seats

Yes. Infant, toddler and booster seats are available at $20 to $25 each, fitted before pickup, and the fee applies in each direction on a round trip. Washington State law requires an appropriate child restraint for children under eight years old. Tell us the ages and the seat type when you book. Trained service animals travel free of charge, and pets in a crate or carrier are $30.

How far in advance should I book an airport transfer

Forty-eight hours is usually enough for a sedan or SUV transfer. For a Sprinter van, a group of ten or more, a cruise sailing day, or travel over Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break, book one to two weeks ahead. Same-day and last-minute bookings are often possible depending on what is on the board, so it is always worth calling 253-333-0265 even at short notice.

What is the cancellation policy

Airport and cruise transfers can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup. Inside 24 hours a charge may apply depending on the vehicle and the date. If your flight is cancelled by the airline, contact dispatch and we will rebook or release the reservation rather than hold you to it. Peak dates and larger vehicles may carry different terms, which are shown on your confirmation.

Book your airport transfer

Quote your trip online in about two minutes, or call and a dispatcher will build it with you, including the pickup time for your flight. Dispatch answers 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
