Prom and graduation limo service in Gig Harbor
Gig Harbor Limo provides licensed, insured prom and graduation transportation for high schools across Gig Harbor, Fox Island, Port Orchard, Tacoma and the South Sound. Bookings are made and held by a parent or guardian, not by a student. Before the night, the booking parent agrees the pickup address, the stops, the drop-off list and the finish time, and that itinerary is what the chauffeur drives. Alcohol is not permitted on any booking carrying passengers under 21, and the chauffeur will end the trip and contact the booking parent if it appears.
Vehicles run from a ten-passenger stretch limousine to a 30-passenger party bus. A party bus for 25 students at the five-hour minimum starts around $1,500, which is roughly $60 a head. Prom season across the Peninsula, Kitsap and Tacoma districts falls in April and May, and Saturdays in that window are the busiest dates of the year, so most groups book two to four months ahead. What we agree with you before the night
You are handing a group of teenagers to an adult you have never met, in a vehicle you cannot see into, for five hours. That is the actual transaction, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a paragraph about making memories. Here is exactly how these bookings are run.
The eight things fixed in advance
- An adult holds the bookingThe reservation is made by a parent or guardian aged 21 or over, in their name, on their card. Students cannot book, change or extend a reservation.
- The itinerary is written downPickup address, every stop, the venue, the finish time and the full drop-off list are confirmed in writing before the date and sent back to you.
- The route does not change on the nightThe chauffeur will not add a stop or take the group to an address that is not on your list. Requests to change it go to you by phone, and only you can approve one.
- No alcohol, no exceptionsNothing to drink is permitted on a booking carrying anyone under 21. If alcohol appears, the chauffeur stops the trip, calls you, and returns the group to the agreed drop-off. No refund, and we would rather that than the alternative.
- No smoking or vapingThe same rule in every vehicle, and the same consequence. Cannabis is illegal for under-21s in Washington and is treated exactly as alcohol is.
- The chauffeur stays with the vehicleParked on site for the whole booked window rather than dropping and leaving. Students are never in a vehicle without the chauffeur present, and never left waiting somewhere for a car to come back.
- You get a text at pickup and at drop-offConfirmation when the group is collected and again when the last student is delivered, so you are not sitting up guessing.
- You get the chauffeur's direct numberBefore the night, along with dispatch. Reachable at any point during the booking, by you rather than only by the group.
Licensed and background-checked
Every chauffeur is commercially licensed, background-checked and drug-tested, and the company is licensed and insured in Washington State. Ask to see the certificate of insurance and we will send it before you pay a deposit.

Split the cost, keep one contact
Most groups split the fare between families. One parent holds the booking and is the single point of contact, and the others pay their share to them. We do not take part payments from twelve different households.
A prom night, start to finish
The shape below is a 7:30pm dance with photos at one house and a dinner stop on the way. Times shift, but the structure almost never does, and the two places groups underbook are the photo window at the start and the drop-off run at the end.
A 7:30pm dance, hour by hour
- Vehicle arrives at the photo houseEarly, and parked where the photos are happening. Parents get the chauffeur's name and number at this point if they have not already.
- Photos in the drivewayThe vehicle is part of the photos, which is half the reason it was booked. Doors open, lights on, and nobody being rushed.
- Dinner stopOne restaurant, agreed in advance. The chauffeur waits outside for the whole sitting rather than going elsewhere and coming back.
- Dance drop-offAt the venue entrance, not the car park. Most schools have a designated drop zone on prom night and we use it.
- Collection from the venueThe vehicle is in position before the dance ends. The chauffeur counts the group back in against the list you gave us.
- Drop-offs on your listEach student to the address their own parent gave, in a sensible order. A text to the booking parent when the last one is home.
Two things groups get wrong
Booking four hours for a five-hour night. Count from the photo house to the last drop-off, not from dinner to the dance. Overrun is charged in 30-minute increments at the hourly rate, and midnight on prom night is not when anybody wants a pricing conversation.
Leaving the drop-off list until the night. Twelve students living across Gig Harbor, Fox Island and Purdy is a 50-minute run if it is planned and a 90-minute one if it is improvised at the kerb. Send the addresses with the booking.
After-prom and grad night
Some groups book the vehicle straight through to an after-prom party at a family home, which we are happy to do on the same terms: the address is on the itinerary, the booking parent has confirmed it, and the host parent knows the group is coming. What we will not do is take a group to an address that turned up by text message at 11pm.
School-run grad nights and senior all-night parties are usually easier, because the school has already fixed the venue and the timings. Send us the school's schedule and we will build the booking around it.
April and May are the busiest weeks of our year
Prom season books out before wedding season does, because every school in three counties runs its dance on one of about six Saturdays.
What it costs once you split it
Prom transport looks expensive as one number and reasonable as twelve. The right-hand column is the figure that actually matters when you are in a group text with eleven other families, calculated at the vehicle's minimum hours and full capacity.

Choosing the vehicle
A stretch limousine seats ten but the seating is bench-style around the sides, which suits a group that wants to sit and talk. A party bus seats twenty to thirty with room to stand, which suits a group that wants music and space. Neither carries meaningful luggage, so bags and shoes stay in the footwells.
The most common sizing mistake is booking a ten-seat stretch for a group of eleven because one person joined late. Capacity is a legal limit, not a suggestion, and the chauffeur cannot take an extra passenger on the night. If the group is growing, tell us early and we will move you up a class rather than leave someone on the driveway.

Graduation is a different booking
Prom is a student booking paid for by parents. Graduation is usually the reverse: the passengers are the family, and the problem is that the ceremony venue has 400 parking spaces and 3,000 people trying to use them within the same twenty minutes.
Three bookings come up every June. Ceremony transport moves the whole family in one vehicle, which matters most when grandparents are travelling and the walk from an overflow lot is half a mile. Graduation dinner runs the family from the venue to a restaurant and home again, on a night when a good number of the adults would like a drink. Grad night is the school-organised all-night party, where the school has already fixed the venue and the timing and we simply build around their schedule.
The same rules apply to any booking carrying students under 21: no alcohol, the route agreed in advance, and the chauffeur with the vehicle throughout. On a family ceremony booking with only adults travelling, the standard fleet policy applies instead.

How to book a prom vehicle
Four steps, and the whole thing is designed so the adult paying is the adult in control of the itinerary. Allow ten minutes on the phone if you would rather talk it through than fill in a form.
Check the date first
Send the school, the date and a rough headcount. April and May Saturdays are the tightest dates of our year, so find out what is available before the group settles on a vehicle.
Size it to the final group
Capacity is a legal limit. Give us the number you expect plus anyone likely to join, and we will put you in a class with room rather than one you will outgrow in March.
Send the itinerary and addresses
Photo house, dinner stop, venue, finish time and every student's home address. This becomes the route the chauffeur drives, and it is confirmed back to you in writing.
Hold it with a deposit
A deposit in the booking parent's name secures the date and the vehicle at the quoted rate. Deposit and cancellation terms for your date are shown on the quote before you pay anything.

How much does a prom limo or party bus cost in Gig Harbor
Prom transport is priced by the hour with a minimum. A ten-passenger Lincoln stretch is $175 per hour with a four-hour minimum, from $700, which is about $70 a student when the vehicle is full. A 20 to 30-passenger party bus is $300 to $350 per hour with a five-hour minimum, from $1,500, or roughly $60 a student. Peak prom Saturdays in April and May carry higher rates and longer minimums, confirmed on your quote.
Can students book, or does it have to be a parent
A parent or guardian aged 21 or over holds the booking, in their name and on their card. Students cannot make, change, extend or cancel a reservation, and the chauffeur will not act on a request from a student to alter the route. This is deliberate: it means the adult paying is the adult in control of where the vehicle goes, and it removes any question about who the chauffeur takes instructions from.
What is your alcohol policy for prom bookings
No alcohol is permitted on any booking carrying passengers under 21. There is no exception for a parent who says it is fine, and no exception for the over-21s in a mixed group. The same applies to cannabis, which is illegal for under-21s in Washington, and to smoking and vaping in any vehicle. The chauffeur checks the vehicle before and after the booking, and the policy is stated on the confirmation the booking parent receives.
What happens if the students break the rules on the night
The chauffeur stops the trip, parks somewhere safe and calls the booking parent. Depending on what you decide, the group is either returned to the agreed drop-off addresses or held until a parent arrives. The booking is not refunded. Nobody enjoys this conversation, which is exactly why the policy is written down in advance rather than discovered at 10pm, and in practice it comes up very rarely.
Does the chauffeur stay with the vehicle all night
Yes. The vehicle and chauffeur are yours for the booked window, parked on site rather than dropping the group and taking another job. Students are never in a vehicle without the chauffeur present, and never left waiting somewhere for a car to come back. It also means the group can leave the dance early if they want to, which occasionally matters.
Will you drop each student at their own home
Yes, and it is included rather than charged as extra stops. Send every student's home address with the booking and we will plan the run in a sensible order, which for a group spread across Gig Harbor, Fox Island and Purdy takes about 50 minutes if it is planned in advance. The chauffeur waits until each student is inside, and the booking parent gets a text when the last one is home.
How far in advance should we book for prom
Two to four months. Most South Sound schools run their proms across about six Saturdays in April and May, so the whole region is competing for the same vehicles on the same handful of dates. Party buses and the larger stretches go first. If your date is close, call 253-333-0265 anyway, because groups do cancel and gaps come up.
How many hours should we book
Count from the photo house to the last drop-off, not from dinner to the dance. A 7:30pm dance with photos at 4:30, a dinner stop and drop-offs after 10:30 is a five to six-hour night, and groups routinely book four. Overrun is charged in 30-minute increments at the hourly rate. How many students fit in a limo or party bus
A Sprinter van and the Lincoln and Chrysler stretches seat 10, the Cadillac stretch seats 16, the Hummer stretch seats 14 to 20, and the party bus seats 20 to 30. Capacity is a legal limit rather than a guideline, so the chauffeur cannot take an extra passenger on the night. If the group grows after booking, tell us early and we will move you up a class. Can you take the group to an after-prom party
Yes, on the same terms as everything else: the address is on the itinerary before the night, the booking parent has confirmed it, and the parent hosting knows the group is coming. What we will not do is take a group to an address that appears by text at 11pm, however convincingly it is explained. If plans change, the booking parent calls us and approves it.
Do you do graduation ceremonies and grad night
Yes. Three bookings come up each June: ceremony transport for the whole family, which matters most when grandparents are travelling and the overflow parking is a long walk; the graduation dinner afterwards; and school-organised grad night, where the school has fixed the venue and we build around their schedule. Are you licensed and insured, and can I see proof
Yes to both. Gig Harbor Limo is licensed and insured in Washington State, vehicles up to 14 passengers are our own and larger vehicles come from UTC-licensed partner operators, and every chauffeur is commercially licensed, background-checked and drug-tested. Ask and we will send the certificate of insurance before you pay a deposit. Any operator who will not do that is one to walk away from.
Can several families split the payment
Split it between yourselves rather than through us. One parent holds the booking, pays the deposit and balance, and is the single point of contact for the itinerary and any changes. The other families settle up with them. We do not take part payments from a dozen separate households, because it makes it unclear who is authorised to change the booking, and on a prom night that clarity is worth more than the convenience.
