Airport transfers from Belfair and North Mason County
Belfair sits at the head of Hood Canal where the Union River meets the water, and it is the commercial centre of northern Mason County. It is roughly 52 miles and 75 to 95 minutes from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, from $195 one way in a premium sedan. Gig Harbor Limo picks up door to door across Belfair, Allyn, Grapeview, Union, Tahuya and the Hood Canal shore, and runs to Sea-Tac, the Seattle cruise piers at Pier 66 and Pier 91, Bremerton National Airport, the Bremerton ferry terminal and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
There are two ways out of Belfair toward the airport, and which one we use is decided on the morning rather than assumed. SR-3 northeast through Gorst is the direct route and the one everybody knows, including the reason it is a problem. SR-3 south to Allyn then SR-302 east across the Key Peninsula to Purdy is a few minutes longer on a clear road and materially quicker when Gorst is stacked. Arrivals include real-time flight tracking and 30 minutes of complimentary wait. Dispatch runs 24 hours a day, which in an area with almost no late-night rideshare supply is the point. Call 253-333-0265.
Two ways out of Belfair
Gorst is a community of fewer than 500 people carrying tens of thousands of commuters a day, at the point where SR-3 and SR-16 meet at the base of Sinclair Inlet on roads laid out in 1964. WSDOT has measured up to fifteen hours of weekday congestion on the northbound approach. If you live in Belfair you already know this. What matters for a flight is that there is a second way round, and that somebody checks before your pickup rather than after.
How each route runs
- Route one, via GorstSR-3 northeast from Belfair past Bremerton National Airport to the SR-16 junction at Gorst, then south over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and up I-5. The direct line, and the fast one at 4am on a Sunday.
- Route two, via Allyn and SR-302SR-3 south to Allyn, then SR-302 east across the Key Peninsula to Purdy, joining SR-16 south of the trouble. Bypasses the Gorst junction entirely.
- When we take route twoWeekday mornings between about 6 and 9, weekday afternoons from 3 to 6, any day there is a collision or Navy shift change stacking Sinclair Inlet, and any time the live map says so.
- What it costs youNothing. Route choice does not change the quoted fare. A transfer is priced point to point, so the road we pick is our problem rather than a line on your invoice.
- Why it matters at allBecause there is no good alternative if you get it wrong. Miss the window at Gorst on a bad morning and you are sitting still with a flight to catch, which is exactly what a pre-booked transfer is supposed to prevent.
Rideshare in North Mason
Worth being plain about, because it is the main practical reason people here book ahead. Rideshare supply thins out badly west of Gorst and effectively disappears in Belfair, Tahuya and along the Hood Canal shore outside daylight hours. A 4am airport run is not a request an app can reliably fill from here, and a driver who accepts one may be forty minutes away when they do.
A pre-booked transfer removes that entirely. The vehicle is assigned the night before, stages locally, and the chauffeur texts when they leave for you. On a 5am pickup in North Mason that certainty is the whole product.
What time you need to leave, and which way we go
Working back from a two-hour curb arrival for a domestic flight, with a buffer built in for SR-3, the Gorst junction and the Narrows Bridge. Add an hour for an international departure and 30 minutes for a holiday weekend.
| Flight departs | At the curb by | Pickup in Belfair | Route we would take |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6:00 am | 4:00 am | 2:10 am | Gorst, empty at that hour |
| 9:00 am | 7:00 am | 5:10 am | Gorst, ahead of the build-up |
| Noon | 10:00 am | 8:10 am | Usually SR-302, straight into the morning peak otherwise |
| 4:00 pm | 2:00 pm | 12:10 pm | Gorst, midday is generally clear |
| 8:00 pm | 6:00 pm | 4:10 pm | Usually SR-302, the afternoon peak is the worse one |
Pickup times already carry a buffer. The route column is what we would plan on, not a promise: the decision is made against the live map on the morning, and dispatch will move a pickup earlier if the corridor looks wrong. Send us the flight number and we will confirm a time for your address rather than for the centre of town.
Coming home
Arrivals are the easier direction. Your inbound is tracked from the moment it pushes back at the origin gate, so a two-hour delay or a forty-minute early landing moves the pickup automatically and nobody sits on a meter. Airport arrivals include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time from touchdown, and meet and greet at baggage claim with a name board is a $50 add-on.
You get a text with the exact door and island when you land, then it is one run home over the bridge and out along SR-3, with bags carried to the step. No hunting a garage at midnight and no drive back through Gorst at the end of a long flight.
Early pickups
A 6am departure out of Sea-Tac means a pickup around two in the morning from Belfair, and that is a normal booking here rather than an exception. Dispatch is staffed overnight and vehicles stage locally, so the earliest slot on the board is not a problem to fill.
Book the night before at the latest. You will have the vehicle, the chauffeur's name and a direct mobile number by text and email before you go to bed, which matters more at 2am than at any other hour.
The far end of the coverage area, and the one that needs it most
Belfair is where booking ahead stops being a convenience and starts being the only reliable way to make a morning flight.
Where we go from Belfair
Transfers are quoted point to point rather than by the hour, so a 30-minute run to the ferry is not billed against a two-hour minimum. Distances are measured from central Belfair and vary by your exact address.
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive | One way from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sea-Tac International Airport | 52 mi | 75–95 min | $195 |
| Seattle cruise piers, 66 and 91 | 76 mi | 100–130 min | $255 |
| Downtown Seattle | 74 mi | 95–125 min | $250 |
| Joint Base Lewis-McChord | 55 mi | 70–90 min | $215 |
| Tacoma | 40 mi | 55–70 min | $150 |
| Gig Harbor | 30 mi | 45–60 min | $120 |
| Little Creek Casino Resort, Shelton | 22 mi | 30–40 min | $95 |
| Bremerton ferry terminal | 18 mi | 25–35 min | $75 |
| Alderbrook Resort, Union | 12 mi | 20–25 min | $85 |
| Bremerton National Airport | 5 mi | 10–15 min | $65 |
Fares are one way for one or two passengers and include fuel, taxes, tolls and the Narrows Bridge crossing. A luxury SUV adds roughly $35 and a ten-passenger Sprinter van roughly $75. Casino trips and tasting tours are booked hourly rather than point to point, because the chauffeur waits on site. Peak dates and pickups before 5am may carry a surcharge, shown before you confirm. See the full fleet and rates.
Pickups across Belfair and the canal
Door to door across the whole of North Mason. A good deal of this area is unlit two-lane road, gravel drives and waterfront lanes with no numbers visible from the highway, so we confirm the approach for addresses we have not run before rather than trusting a satellite view.
Belfair and the Union River
Home groundThe town itself, the SR-3 corridor and the flats where the Union River meets Lynch Cove. Most of our North Mason pickups start within a few miles of here.

- North Mason High School
- Bremerton National Airport
- Sand Hill
- Romance Hill
The Hood Canal shore
15–35 minWest and south along SR-106 and SR-300, out toward Union, Tahuya and the north shore. Long waterfront lanes, few streetlights, and the part of the area where the approach is worth checking first.

- Twanoh State Park
- Tahuya
- Dewatto
- North Shore Road
- Hood Canal
Allyn, Grapeview and south
10–40 minDown SR-3 toward Shelton and out along SR-302 to the Key Peninsula. This is also where the Gorst bypass route runs, so these pickups often sit on the way rather than out of the way.
- Allyn
- Grapeview
- Victor
- Lakeland Village
- Port of Allyn
- Shelton
- Little Creek Casino Resort
- Salish Cliffs Golf Club
Communities and landmarks are listed to show the areas we cover and do not imply an affiliation with any of them. Nearby golf, including Alderbrook, Lakeland Village, Horseshoe Lake, Gold Mountain, McCormick Woods and Trophy Lake, is well within reach for a group booking. If your address is on an unmarked lane or a shared drive, send the location when you book and we will confirm access, particularly for a Sprinter or a stretch vehicle.
Other North Mason bookings
Airport work is the bulk of it, but the same vehicles cover everything else the area needs a chauffeur for, and on a couple of these Belfair is better placed than anywhere else we serve.
Casino runs
Belfair is the closest city we serve to Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, about 30 to 40 minutes, and Lucky Dog at Skokomish is not much further. Booked hourly so the vehicle waits on site. Casino trips.
Hood Canal weddings
Alderbrook and the canal-shore venues draw guests from all over, most of whom are staying somewhere else and driving unfamiliar unlit roads at night. Guest shuttles solve that. Wedding transport.
Ferry and base connections
The Bremerton ferry terminal is 25 to 35 minutes up SR-3, and Naval Base Kitsap sits on the same corridor. Early report times and late sailings are routine bookings. Corporate service.
Nights out and group trips
Into Bremerton, Silverdale or over the bridge to Tacoma, with the vehicle waiting rather than being hailed. From out here that last part is not a luxury. Nights out.
What North Mason clients say
★★★★★Two in the morning pickup from Belfair for a six o'clock flight and the car was sitting outside before I had my coat on. Nobody else out here will even take that booking.
★★★★★Driver took us round through Allyn and Purdy instead of Gorst without us asking. We watched the backup on the map going the other way. Got to the airport with an hour spare.
★★★★★Booked a shuttle for guests staying in Belfair for our wedding at Alderbrook. Nobody had to drive North Shore Road in the dark and everyone got home. Best money we spent.
Belfair transfer questions
How far is Belfair from Sea-Tac Airport
About 52 miles and 75 to 95 minutes, depending on the hour and which route the traffic allows. The direct line is SR-3 northeast past Bremerton National Airport to the SR-16 junction at Gorst, then south over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and up I-5. When Gorst is stacked we go the other way instead, south to Allyn then east on SR-302 across the Key Peninsula to Purdy, joining SR-16 below the trouble.
How much is a car from Belfair to Sea-Tac
From $195 one way in a premium sedan for one or two passengers, quoted point to point rather than against an hourly minimum. A luxury SUV adds roughly $35 and a ten-passenger Sprinter van roughly $75. The fare includes fuel, taxes, tolls and the Narrows Bridge crossing, and it does not change with the route we take. Pickups before 5am and peak travel dates may carry a surcharge, which is shown before you confirm.
What time should I be picked up for a morning flight
For a 9am domestic departure from a Belfair address, 5:10 am, working back from a 7am curb arrival with a buffer for SR-3, Gorst and the Narrows. A 6am flight means a pickup around 2:10 am, which is a normal booking here rather than an exception. Add an hour for an international departure. Send us the flight number and we will confirm a time for your actual address.
Do you avoid Gorst
When it makes sense, yes. Gorst carries tens of thousands of commuters a day through a junction built in 1964, and WSDOT has measured up to fifteen hours of weekday congestion on the northbound approach. The bypass is SR-3 south to Allyn then SR-302 east to Purdy. It is a few minutes longer on a clear road and materially quicker in the morning and afternoon peaks. The decision is made against the live map on the day, and it does not change your fare.
Is there rideshare in Belfair
Not reliably, and this is the honest reason most people here book ahead. Supply thins badly west of Gorst and effectively disappears in Belfair, Tahuya and along the Hood Canal shore outside daylight hours. A 4am airport run is not a request an app can dependably fill from here, and a driver who does accept may be a long way off when they do. A pre-booked transfer is assigned the night before and stages locally.
Which other places do you serve from Belfair
Door to door across North Mason County, including Allyn, Grapeview, Victor, Union, Tahuya and Dewatto, plus Shelton and the Hood Canal shore. Common destinations are Sea-Tac, the Seattle cruise piers at Pier 66 and Pier 91, Bremerton National Airport, the Bremerton ferry terminal, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Little Creek Casino Resort and Alderbrook Resort at Union. If your address or destination is not listed, send it and we will confirm.
Do you track flights on arrivals
Yes, from the moment your inbound pushes back at the origin gate, so a delay or an early landing moves the pickup automatically and nobody sits waiting on a meter. Airport arrivals include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time from touchdown, and you get a text with the exact door and island when you land. Meet and greet at baggage claim with a name board is a $50 add-on.
Can you pick up from waterfront lanes and gravel drives
Yes, and it is most of what we do out here. A lot of North Mason is unlit two-lane road and long private drives with no number visible from the highway, so we confirm the approach for any address we have not run before rather than trusting a satellite view. This matters most for a Sprinter van or a stretch vehicle, where the real question is whether there is somewhere to turn round. Send the location when you book.
Do you do casino trips from Belfair
Yes, and Belfair is the closest city we serve to them. Little Creek Casino Resort at Shelton is about 22 miles and 30 to 40 minutes, and Lucky Dog at Skokomish is not much further. Casino trips are booked hourly rather than point to point, because the chauffeur parks on site and waits for the whole visit. Every passenger must be 21 or over. See casino and tasting trips.
Do you cover weddings at Alderbrook and the Hood Canal venues
Yes. Canal-shore weddings draw guests from all over, most of them staying somewhere else and facing unlit two-lane roads at the end of the night. A guest shuttle between the accommodation and the venue solves it, and a Sprinter van seats 10 with room for luggage. Union is about 12 miles and 20 to 25 minutes from Belfair. See wedding transportation.
How far in advance should I book
Forty-eight hours is usually enough for a sedan or SUV transfer, and longer for a Sprinter, a group booking or a holiday weekend. Belfair sits at the far edge of our coverage and a run out here commits a vehicle for a good part of the day, so it is worth confirming earlier than a Gig Harbor or Tacoma booking would be. Same-day is often possible, so call 253-333-0265 even at short notice.
Do you serve Shelton and the rest of Mason County
Yes, on request. Belfair, Allyn, Grapeview, Union and Tahuya are regular coverage, and Shelton, Hoodsport and the wider county are quoted case by case depending on the date and what is on the board. Send the pickup address and the destination and we will confirm before you plan anything around it. See our full coverage area.
Book your Belfair transfer
Send the flight number and your address and we will confirm a pickup time, the fare and which way round we plan to go. Dispatch answers 24 hours a day, including the two in the morning bookings.
